Last week Thursday we have a guest speaker named Mitch Wagner, who is the editor-in-chief of the CMO site. This guest speaker is different from other speaker we had before. The reason for that is this is a writer not a businessman or expert marketing person. He's advice of blogging is more write what you think and do not fake it. Taking your audience as your friends, sharing your experience with them, exchanging ideas with them. Although your blog can not always about you, you need to share other information with them such as what do you do in your industry. People like gaining knowledge. In addition, from Wagner, when we writing blog, do not write it too long or too short. It is better between 350-500 words. If it is too long, your reader will lost their interest in that. If it is too short, it seems you did not take it serious and did not give them more information to reply your blog. Most importantly, here are some tips from Steven King’s writing:1 Get to the point; 2 Write a draft;3 If you get in slump, let it rest; 4 Cut down your text; 5 Don’t use these cliché’s; 6 Don’t care too much about what others think; 7 Read a lot; 8 Write a lot; 9 Have someone edit your work. This guest speaker gave me totally different angle to view how to use blog attracting your customers.
And there is the blog of the guest: http://copperrobot.com/
